Tim and I went to the river a couple of weeks ago, (well it's really just a creek) and took some pictures. I love these cliffs. It makes me want to know how they were formed. What makes them so perfectly uniform? I'm sure there are different theories and since I'm a Creationist I would think it had something to do with The Great Flood. Pressure of tons of water maybe.....purely speculation. I just have to wonder though.....

I found this lovely Plantain plant. It was so dark green and glossy it just caught my attention. I don't know if it's from the condition of the soil. Being close to the rivers edge it would be in the flood plain. Hence, fertile soil. My plantain that grows in my yard doesn't look this good.
Plantain is a great herb! Very useful. Our granddaughter got stung by a bee while she was visiting us. I immediately ran to the yard and picked some. I bruised it up by smooshing it between my fingers until it was starting to feel damp. I put this on the sting and my poor little crying grand girl stopped crying in a matter of maybe 5-10 seconds.(we'll say less than 30 sec just to be conservative) She looked at what I had put on her sting and looked at me as if to say "what did you do gramma?" It worked way better than I had expected to "pull the sting out". Good stuff!
This is my mystery plant.....I'm working on finding out what this is.

That is so neat about Plantain. I've read out it on the Bulk Herb Store web sight (I really enjoy all the herb info and other fun things on that sight) and wished we had some around here.

Rayia,
I'm sure you do have Plantain. Probably in your yard! I believe it is one plant that is found just about everywhere in the world. Google images of plantain and you'll recognize it. It's a common yard weed.
